Ernie,

THANK YOU for the love and for the movie. I loved it and so did my friends. The whole experience was really mind blowing for me. There are soooo many things I want to say to you but I'll keep it sweet.

In the movie it said your mom was an orphan. My mom was too. I'm sure this has shaped you and that is where the "spirit" of you that all the artists speaks of comes from and I felt it as well. It was amazing to see you in tears after the film. Your passion is felt in just a handshake from you and I hope that some day I will exude that same passion.

Both of my parents passed by the time I was 21. It was your movie that made me realize broken homes are something that many, if not all, hip hop artists share. Someone in the movie said "that's how the hip hop community relates to each other" or something along that line. I think maybe that is part of what drew you to the culture and I KNOW it is part of what drew me to it.

You are a pioneer and I feel more comfortable referring to myself as "hip hop" now that I have meet you. More people should want to meet you, and I will be passing on your legacy to anyone that will listen because I think it is important they learn about you.

The whole experience was uplifting and inspiring to me (and my friends). I am going to continue to do all I can and improve The San Diego Hip Hop Community. Our motto says brought together by the love of hip hop and that will always be true. Now, you and I were brought together by our love of hip hop and I feel blessed. I told you in person but let me repeat. There are some young people who really care about the culture and view hip hop as an art form and not a get rich scheme. I will continue to seek those people out and BE one of them.

Thanks for your time, spirit, and presence. It was an honor and your art has deeply affected me.

Peace & Respect,
MadCat
